Winter Jams

I'm very seasonal when it comes to the music I listen to. Summer time means straight forward rock 'n' roll, usually with a southern tinge. Winter is inevitably of the mellow, folky, singer songwriter type with some jazz thrown in for good measure.

Here are the 5 albums I'm digging this winter:

1. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
2. Daniel Martin Moore - Stray Age
3. Bonnie "Prince" Billie - The Letting Go
4. Patty Griffin - A Kiss In Time
5. Bowerbirds - Hymns For A Dark Horse

Michael,

I had a thought after I read your post from the end of January about buying music... and how expensive it gets. I found a website called archive.org that has tons (thousands and thousands) of free concerts from all sorts of artists. There's so much content that it's a bit daunting to sift through... but once you find a band you like that's on there, you've got tons of live shows that you can download for free.

Here's a list of the bands:

This has been a great way for me to keep getting lots of good music and not having to fork over tons of money for it!
